


Participants are allowed to run in a maximum of 3 out of the 6 qualifiers. There will be 6 qualifying races using a point system that rounds to the nearest hundredth of a point. There is now a preset on the VARIA site.Logic will be the same as Randomizer League Season 3, including Progression Speed being be randomized between Slow, Medium, Fast, Basic, VARIAble, and speedrun.The settings for all races this year will be: The top 16 registered players with the highest scores after all qualifier races have concluded will qualify and be seeded by rank. Each match is expected to be played in 1 sitting. Any participant who is not officially registered on Smash for this tournament at that time will not be allowed to participate, regardless of qualifier results.Įach match will be best-of-3, single elimination. All players are required to stream and to follow all SRL rules. The time listed on SRL is the official time for the match.


Players will use SpeedRunsLive to time and record their race. Players may use cartridge, flashcart, or emulator. Players caught cheating will be instantly banned from the tournament with no exceptions. Cheating includes things such as watching your opponents stream alongside your race, viewing Twitch chat, watching the restream or listening to the live commentary. PLAYERS MAY NOT CHEAT!!! This ruins the fun of the tournament. The restream may stop after one player has finished the seed, in this instance the final race results will be taken from srl recordings. If both players are considered no-shows (worst case), both players will be forfeited in order of seed.įailure to finish the game within a 5 hour limit will count as a forfeit. If a match isn't scheduled by the end of the defined week (11:59 PM PDT on the respective Sunday) without letting an admin know, that match will count as a forfeit with no exceptions. Any bugs found for the randomizer program should be reported here: Changes may be made to the randomizer during the tournament at the discretion of the admins, details of any changes made will be posted in the Discord to make all runners aware of such changes. We would encourage you to race a few seeds prior to the tournament beginning in order to familiarize yourself with this particular version of the randomizer. If you are unsure if something is considered a major glitch please ask an admin. Anything designated a major glitch by the majority of the Super Metroid community (including underflow) and any form of oob is banned. The randomizer seed you will use for your match will be generated by an admin using the custom item randomizer program created by total/foosda and will be sent to you prior to your match starting. Runners that are not ranked on the SRL Super Metroid leaderboard will be randomized and placed at the bottom of the seeding. Seeding is determined on the day of the signup cutoff (Wednesday 12th July), so you have until then to increase your SRL ranking and improve your seed should you wish to do so. Seeding will be done according to SRL rankings on the Super Metroid leaderboard. Matches do not have to be played straight after each other although this is encouraged. The tournament will be double elimination with each match being a best of 3. A link to the spreadsheet will be posted here once it becomes available. A submission form with corresponding spreadsheet will be made available to submit and display your scheduled times during the tournament. Discord will be used to communicate with players and schedule races. Prior to the tournament, we will be confirming your participation and getting players to join the Discord server. Entrants will have 7 days to complete each of their matches. Runners of all skill levels are encouraged to compete!
